"Leave us a review" link generator, with its QR code

Paste your Google listing address or your place identifier. The tool derives the link that opens the review form directly, its QR code, and a card ready to sit on the counter.

Your Google listing

The best result comes from the short link Google gives you in your Business Profile account. Failing that, paste your place identifier, or your Maps listing address.

Nothing is sent anywhere: the reading happens in your browser.

Your review link

Paste your listing address

The link, the QR code and the card appear here as soon as your listing is recognised.

Everything is built in your browser. Neither your link nor your card is sent to us.

Where to find your identifier, three ways

The first takes ten seconds if you already manage your listing. The other two work even without an account.

1

From your Google Business Profile account

Open your listing and look for the ask-for-reviews button. Google hands you a short g.page link directly: paste it as it is, the tool recognises it and needs nothing else.

2

From your Maps listing address

Open your listing on Google Maps in a desktop browser, then copy the full address shown at the top. Careful: the Share button in the mobile app produces a shortened address this tool cannot read.

3

From Google's place identifier tool

Google publishes a place identifier finder, free and without an account: type your business name and it returns a string starting with ChIJ. It is the surest method when the other two fail.

Where to put this QR code

The link is worth what its staging is worth. A code nobody sees earns no reviews.

On the counter, at waiting height

The spot where the customer waits while you take payment is the only moment of the visit when they have nothing to do. That is where a code gets scanned, not by the door.

On the invoice or the signed quote

For trades that travel, the paper left at the end of the job replaces the counter. The customer looks at it once more that same evening.

In your email signature

The link, not the code: nobody scans an email. One discreet line under your name is enough, and it works all year without you thinking about it.

On the confirmation message

A text or an email sent after the job lands while the memory is intact. It is the channel with the best response rate, by a distance.

What you are not allowed to do

Google's rules on soliciting reviews are explicit, and breaking them ends in the removal of the reviews collected, sometimes of the whole listing.

  1. 1

    Trading a review for something

A discount, a free coffee, a prize draw: any consideration is forbidden, even symbolic, even without requiring the review to be positive. It is the most broken rule and the easiest to spot.

  2. 2

    Only asking happy customers

Filtering upstream, through a form that forwards only satisfied customers to Google, is explicitly prohibited. The code goes to everyone, or to nobody.

  3. 3

Writing reviews on your own listing

You, your staff and your relatives are in a conflict of interest. Such reviews are detectable, and finding them undermines the whole listing, not just the review concerned.

  4. 4

Having reviews written on site, on your device

This is not forbidden as such, but a run of reviews published from the same connection or the same tablet often gets filtered out. Let the customer scan with their own phone, on their own network.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my maps.app.goo.gl link not work?

Because it is a redirect, and your browser forbids this page from following it — a standard protection that applies to every site. Open the link in a tab, let Google Maps load, then copy the full address from the browser bar: that one is readable.

Does the QR code expire?

No. It simply encodes your link, with no intermediary and no shortening service. As long as your listing exists and keeps the same identifier, the printed card stays valid. That is also why this tool shortens nothing: a short link that goes through a third party stops working the day that third party closes.

Can I put this code on flyers or my shop window?

Yes, without restriction. The downloaded file is an ordinary image, free to use on your own materials. Print it at least three centimetres across: below that, phones struggle to read it at arm's length.

Can I ask every customer for a review?

Yes, and it is even recommended. What is forbidden is sorting: asking only those you expect a good review from. Ask everyone, with no consideration in return, and let the customer write what they think.

Does the link work if my customer has no Google account?

No: Google requires a sign-in to publish a review. The link will open the sign-in screen before the form. It is one of the reasons the response rate never exceeds a fraction of the customers asked.

Does this tool send my link anywhere?

No. The identifier is extracted by your browser, the QR code is drawn there, and the card is composed there. No request goes to our servers, and nothing is kept.

The code brings the reviews in. Answering them is the next job.

Pharelio alerts you on every new review, drafts a reply for you to approve in one click, and tracks your rating week after week.
